I feel like movies, just like books, you have to watch again at some other point in your life.

When I first watched Lost in Translation I loved it, it was weird because I think I was only 14. It was just the type of movie that would change the way I used to enjoy cinema, it would bring me to Sofia Coppola and I’m still in love with her characters. I watched this movie after I moved to the U.S and it brought me a constant state of sadness for at least 3 days, I was Charlotte, except I did not have Bill Murray to go through all this troubled time with me.

I have my Bill Murray and he is as far as Bob is from Charlotte and nobody will EVER understand our relationship. I love my Bob.

Charlotte speaks so much to me, and I don’t even want to explain cuz I feel like I want those little pieces of dialogue to be mine.

Well, my valentine’s day was quite special, not only for my boyfriend but because I’m not living in my house anymore.

I decided to give the University a try and moved to the dorms, we will see what happens, but for now, the church in front of my apartment starts to ring the bell at 6 i the morning and is impossible to sleep, since that goes on every hour of the day.

We will see, also the lovely people in my school that thought I was arrogant: suck my cock!

You give power to the youth and they will judge you like a bunch of assholes. Anyway, I don’t really have much more to say yet.

Because I don’t have a TV or internet I was obligated to watch old movies that I had on my computer last night, I hope I find a solution for that before I die of boredom, which brought me to Vicky Cristina Barcelona <3

I will let you guys know how my adventure on trying to be a good/normal adult turns out.

1- Prison

Girls, let’s not be a hypocrite here, we all love some outlaw guy that hides his knife on his boots. We all dated at some point that guy that had his third child name tattoo on his neck by the age of 20, or that guy that would treat us like crap and be drunk in every single family dinner, maybe not, but for sure you had a bad boy as a boyfriend and unless you did not break up with him, prisons are a great place to go back in time and get a great date with that “hot and busted” guy.

2- Sub-Kitchen

I volunteered on a sub-kitchen while I was living in California because that was the only place I could “work” and not own a car, California is pretty much like Florida on the public transportation aspect and I hated that. Anyway, back to valentine’s, sub kitchens are great places because everybody there is hungry, not necessarily only for food (wink).

It was incredible the amount of clever things I heard from the guys that used to eat there, they went from: “did it hurt when you fell from heaven?” to “lemme see dis tits ho”, most of them have all their teeth and some smell kinda good, but I figure if you are looking for a valentine, which you shouldn’t because valentine’s day is not a big deal, that is a good place. I doubt any of the guys will refuse a good meal or anything with a vagina.

3- Craigslist

There is the section on Craigslist for missed connections, you can send a love note to a guy that you saw some day and don’t know. The “women seeks men” part is not my favorite, that one is only for sex but we are looking for a real date here. Following is a sample of what you may want to say”

I was lucky because I met one of my boyfriends on the internet, he was not a creep, rapist or pedophile, he was actually pretty nice and normal. If you like The Killers for example, stalk around their fan page on facebook and try to find a cute guy, no pokes please, pokes are the most noneffective way to get a guy online. Send him a cute message and go from there.

Of course it can always go wrong, there was this Japanese guy (like 20 years old) that had a cyber relationship with a girl in Brazil, he flew all the way from Japan to Brazil to meet her just for the girl to end up being 14 years old and the mom to say that he was not allow to see her little daughter. Bummer. I also remember the movie Closer where Jude Law pretends to be a girl and have cyber sex with that other actor that is not that hot so is not relevant, that was weird, it sucks to think that you are masturbating in fact to a man, unless he is Jude Law, in that case you should not care man.

5- At GameStop

If the guy has time to be playing Call of Duty, he for sure has not have a girlfriend in a while and he is for sure just waiting for a girl to say that his braces are actually cute or that his hair could use water every now and then, also that there is a lot of medication for pimples that were discovered since his graduation form elementary school. Unless he is buying Mario Kart, in that case don’t bother because he is taken.

I know it sounds crazy but it makes sense to me. People when tired they whine, and complain and eat emotionally, it is all very reasonable but crying is what works for me.

Last night for example, I was so tired and I was going to take a shower and just started sobbing, I think this way: “Oh shit, I just want to be very rich and be at the Cayman Island right now, sipping margaritas and watching the sun set, WHY? WHY AM I NOT LIKE THAT? *crying a lot* Also, I’m so tired and I don’t want to wake up at 9, in fact I’m scare to sleep and wake up next week, that’s how tired I’m, WHY CAN I JUST SLEEP? *crying hysterically**breath deeply contemplating this thought of not only jealously but how life is unfair* Stop Lorraine, be happy with the life you have, of driving minimum of 1 hour and a half everyday and no friends in school because no one gives a shit to be nice. *cry about how young adults can be such twats* Ok, ok, I’m in bed right now…can’t sleep…I NEED TO SLEEP! *sobbing*

It is a very tough position, I often argue with my boyfriend and everybody else that asks if everything is fine, NO nothing is fine, my feet hurts, my hair is gross, I have Frida Kahlo eyebrows because all I wanna do on weekends is sleep and I don’t want to suffer the pain of getting my eyebrows done, in fact I think there is nothing more painful than that.

I know, I know, is not like I’m on war and haven’t slept in 3 days killing afghans but my therapists always told me: do not compare your pain with anyone’s, no one knows the battle you fight.

Being tired is not really a battle, but it doesn’t feel good and the only way I know how to exhaust myself to the point I can just pass out is by crying my eyes out.

Then I wake up and my hope and faith are restore, until I get tired my the end of day.

I’m proud to say that a lot has changed, and I’m grateful that in the country I was born, a woman is the president. I’m proud of many things that was accomplished in our society and at the same time very sad that we still live in a patriarchy society.

There is no doubt in my mind that the United States is one of the many countries that do not give the proper recognition to women, not only that, but a country that keep committing crime against our gender and being condescend of sexism. It is sad to see how little we have grown and how cruel our reality is.

This project is based on sex crime survivors. The women are holding a quote of their rapist. Yes, there are A LOT of rape crimes that are never put out there like this, girls that are raped in my school at frat houses that are either afraid to talk or are put to believed that “they deserved”. I’m a very pacific person, but I swear that I would not think twice to just cut those boys balls open.

This women are just a few of many that are tired of holding it inside and are ready to bring awareness for the matter. The quotes are not only disgusting but shocking. How casual some offenders are, how the women felt guilt of what happen because as a woman, society made her believe that is expected of her to be ok with sex and ok to do whatever the men wants them to.

The majority of the sex abusers are people who the victim know. Family members (sick but true), neighboors and that very good friend of yours that just keep giving you shots of tequila and grabbing you from behind. People make the wrong judgement for thinking that abusers are homeless people who appear in the middle of the night to rape girls that are out too late. It sure happens and is frustrating that I have to be scare of walking on the street during the night, but it is not the most common form of violence.

It is a beautiful, painful and corageous project. Many girls need support but are afraid to talk to the people they know, here is a chance to get support AND prevent further crimes.

If you are a man and know about a beast that commit this type of crime, don’t be a coward and do something about it. If you are a girl or woman victim of sex crime, don’t be scare anymore.
